Petainer is a market leading environmentally friendly sustainable packaging manufacturer

Petainer is the largest manufacturer of refillable PET bottles for the German market and also dominates the Scandinavian PET bottle market.  The business has an established customer base of global beverage brands many of which have been customers for over 15 years.  Petainer is well regarded in the market for its new product development capabilities and innovation which is embedded into the culture of its 300 employees.  In particular it has pioneered the use of recycled PET and other sustainable packaging substrates.

The business is led by highly experienced former Rexam directors Nigel Pritchard (incoming CEO) and Brian Woods (incoming COO) in addition to the proven existing management team. Next Wave will be represented on the Board by Stephen Walls, (initially acting Chairman) and Jonathan Brod.

Petainer’s growth will be driven by expansion in both small container sales and development of its new large container offering.  Small containers sales are expected to grow driven by continued refillable bottles market share gains and by expanding sales of one-way bottles (and preforms) for growth markets.  In addition to expanding the core business, Petainer has an opportunity to drive growth in large PET containers.  The company has already launched an innovative new alternative to the steel beer keg.  The PET keg significantly reduces the environmental impact of keg distribution and offers breweries significant cost savings.
